PGA Tour Brings in Golf Pros to Cryo Shield

This week in San Diego, Torrey Pines hosted the Farmers Insurance Open where Jon Rahm got his first career PGA Tour win with an incredible putt! Our Torrey Pines location was visited throughout the week with PGA athletes coming in to prep for the tournament with whole body cryotherapy to get their bodies feeling in top shape. We were happy to share our cold therapy treatment with PGA pros Dustin Johnson, Charley Hoffman, Rick Lamb, Pádraig Harrington, Smylie Kaufman and Scott Stallings.

As any golfer will attest, this game can be hard on the body. The repetitive movements of the swing including the twisting of the back and wrist movement all need addressing. And, for many, a day of 18 holes means walking around at least 6 miles (for some of us, much more!). Both pros and everyday golfers can benefit from cryotherapy.

Athletes from all sports are quickly finding whole body cryotherapy essential to maintaining their active lifestyle and recovery routine. Benefits of the short 2-3 minute session include increased muscle recovery and reduced inflammation. After a long day of teeing it up, the deep freeze of cryotherapy also offers higher energy levels and a better, deeper sleep. It’s no wonder that cryotherapy is a must for those on the PGA Tour.
